2015 July President’s Message

Greeting to all ACF Chapter Members & Friends,

At this point I’m sure you aware of the elections results for the ACF National Election of Officers for 2015 – 2017.   We wish them all much luck & success with their challenges and lead the ACF National Office to the betterment of all ACF Members.

We would like congratulate the following National Officers:

I reported to you last month that our own elections will be upon us in the near future.  Your current board serving their terms will be up in 2016.  Most recently I have reach out to you our members to take interest to become the new Leaders of the Executive & Directors of the Board.  We need to continue our focus and fulfilling the needs for the chapter members.

Your executive & board of directors will continue to provide exciting venues for our meeting, chapter functions, outings and support.  But we need you to attend these functions to make them continue and rewarding.   There will not be a chapter meeting in July, in August we will be meeting at Fort Harrison, Hosted by Chef Michael Thames, CSC in Clearwater, FL. Chapter Highlights;

April, our Chapter picnic was held at Lettuce Park. We had a nice turnout by members, friends & family.  I would like to thank Clyde Tanner for taking the lead in making this a successful event.  Also special thanks to Rene Marquis, Vanessa Jaurique, Allan Gazaway, Patrick Artz, John Beaudrie, Michael Priola, Rick Eppers, and of course everyone who donated F&B for the outing.  The winners of the side dish & dessert competition truly shared with us a special treat, excellent job by all.

May ACF Tampa Bay Culinary Association, competition held at International School of Culinary Arts at Ai of Tampa.  Special thanks go out to host Chef Clyde Tanner, Director of Culinary Academics, Chef Rene Marquis for putting this event together, Executive Board & chapter members who participated,  also those who traveled from out of state to participate.  Congratulations to all in your continued success toward your future goals.

June our chapter held the annual golf outing at the Innisbrook Resort.  Chef Andy Coniglio hosted the event.  We appreciate the assistance from Chef Simon Maple, Kyaw Htet, Head Golf Pro, Josh Trapp, Golf Pro and the Innisbrook Resort Staff for their support.   We continue to strive to find ways to bring meaningful events to all our members, and business partners, in providing a fun, rewarding, social event that brings our chapter closer to the local community.  Our chapter continues to provide support to assist the Ryan Wells Foundation with not only a financial donation, but to utilize local culinary school students talent to assist in the kitchens and on the course.  This years attendees were, Chef Cathleen Ryan, Chef Instructor at Tarpon Springs High School, Jacobson Culinary Arts Academy, Atila student volunteer, many parent chaperones, Christian Benson, Land O Lakes High School, Academy of Culinary Arts, student volunteer, the chapter wishes our sincere thanks and appreciation for your time and energy in assisting with the outing.

I would be remised if I did not thank John Beaudrie, Treasurer for his undetermined dedication, valuable time donated towards our cause.  Many things are not even noticed by others; to fulfill the needs of this fundraising event John’s commitment made the difference in this year’s success.

Understand the chapter’s executive & directors of the board complete support to put this event together went without a hitch.  Cheryl Glass behind the scenes efforts are very much appreciated, all the last minute details that are completed by Cheryl are without a doubt truly deserving a special thank you. Please share with me in congratulating each of them the next opportunity you have to see them.
